Rittman Wins! And the band wasn't there

You read this right. The Rittman football team snapped a 27 game losing streak by scoring 27 points en route to a 27-0 shutout of Conotton Valley. The band hadn't been scheduled to go along this weekend, so I didn't have an eyewitness account of the action.

Congratulations to the young men of the Rittman football team.

Conotton Valley may very well be one of the smallest football playing high schools in the state..If Rittman is going to beat anyone it should be Conotton Valley..Serously though, Congrats to Rittman for the win..I see Rittman will be playing my high school, Magnolia Sandy Valley, in two weeks..Dont get too confident now..

The amazing thing is my daughter said it wasn't that the other team was that bad, it was that our team was actually pretty good for a change. This is also the first time in over three years we've had a Freshman, JV and Varsity team!! That kind of says something about the old coach..hmmmm...

Sandy Valley is about 10-12 miles south of Canton..From Rittman, youd problaly start on Rt. 30 East to 77 South..take the Route 800 Cleveland Avenut South Exit and follow rt. 800 till you get to Route 183..They'll be a small shopping area..make a left on Rt. 183..The School will be on the right hand side..Hope this helps..

Lawson's Chip Dip

On a couple of occasions I have written posts dedicated to Lawson's, a convenience store chain that was located in Ohio for close to 50 years. In the late 1980's the chain was bought out by Dairy Mart, of Engfield Ct. Dairy Mart was then purchased by Alimentation Couche-Tard, and most stored were rebranded Circle K. Something that has survived the years since Lawson's has left the landscape is Lawson's Chip Dip. I get many hits on this blog from people out of Ohio, I'm thinking former Buckeyes, looking for availability of this chip dip. I had gotten an email from a former resident of Cleveland looking for it. I emailed Circle K about this sometime ago asking if it was possible to send the dip out to those out of state, they said because of quality issues that it was not possible.
