Four Weeks in...

I have completed my fourth week in at the new job. I continue to amaze my coworkers with my reading abilities and my voice. I am also now calling for two clients. At this time, taking personal inventory, I feel my biggest need is some self confidence. Of course there are several who read my words here on a regular basis who have been telling me this for years.

Being a sales oriented job, I have to bone up on some of my closing techniques, especially objection handling. I have been listening to quite a bit of master sales motivator, Zig Ziglar on my mp3 player. Hopefully some of this will stick.

But all in all, I'm enjoying getting up much later and not driving half as much as I did before. Please pray for confidence for me and that the compensation will follow.

Sounds like you're well on your way to success. Sometimes the confidence comes the more you settle into the job. I'm sure you'll get more of it as time goes by. Good luck to you!

Confidence comes with experience..don't expect more than you can handle...all we can do is is the BEST we have to give Cliff! If that's not enough, well, you can say, "I gave it my all" and walk away proud...just hang in there and get that experience you'll be fine!

Cliff - glad to hear you have a job - that's 1/2 the battle. Be confident in your ability - it will come as long as you have the right mindset every day. I saw Zig Ziglar in person before - great stuff! I was in sales for many years and I know how tough it can be, I have found it to be an evolving art form.

Zig Ziglar is a good teacher when I was with Reality One realestate company in Parma Heights we would regulary listen to his seminares on the computer at the office.

Post 800: Time to chat

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. When I first decided to write my musings, a friend from the radio and television boards who goes by the name of newsnomore, told me not to be discouraged if I didn't get any readers. The fact that I did in the early going made me surprised and grateful that anyone was enjoying what I wrote. I've had people tell me that maybe it wasn't meant for me to ever be in radio, that maybe my calling was blogging. From a "Battleground State"

I am going to make this one short and sweet. I live in Ohio, in this election season, one of the so called "Battleground states," a state crucial for any candidate presidential hopes. Of course we have had many visits from presidential and vice presidential candidates. Other blogs have dissected both campaigns so I will not. The only questions I have is will the promises made by either of these candidates exclusive to these states be fulfilled, or will they prove only to be hot air?
