Sleepwalker Parade

Tonight was the 40th annual Rittman Sleepwalkers parade. There was also an appearance in town by one of my favorite morning show hosts, and fellow blogger, Scott Wynn of WQMX and Scott Wynn's Window fame.

I did warn him when the photo was taken for this blog that the last radio people who were photographed for this blog were Paul Rado and Marty Allen, both currently unemployed. However, Scott works for a better company than Paul and Marty did.


Even though this year's parade was interrupted by some rain, it was the usual nice parade.

In the beginning part of the parade, the best high school marching band around made their appearance. the Rittman Indians Marching Band did their usual fantastic job.

One of my usual mistakes is not having enough power in the WIXYcam and my photos were limited. Like I said before, there was some rain during the parade. Caused me to chuckle looking at the kids in attendance chasing after the candy in the rain. I told Scott that it was ironic that we had kids who were going to catch their death of cold and rot their teeth out the same day the president was in the state promoting his healthcare plan. Oh, how I miss the small Ohio town. There's always a Main Street. Looks like a good time, even in the rain.

My son got hit in the head with a lollipop when he was little at a parade -- they can be a health hazard. ha.

It was a most excellent parade!! 45 minutes long....I didn't get to hear the band play, they were to Ohio Ave before they started playing....ANd I was on the corner of Metzger & Sauer...disappointed!! Don't know if they'll win any games this year, but my daughter will be cheering, so I'll be there!!

Lawson's Chip Dip

On a couple of occasions I have written posts dedicated to Lawson's, a convenience store chain that was located in Ohio for close to 50 years. In the late 1980's the chain was bought out by Dairy Mart, of Engfield Ct. Dairy Mart was then purchased by Alimentation Couche-Tard, and most stored were rebranded Circle K. Something that has survived the years since Lawson's has left the landscape is Lawson's Chip Dip. I get many hits on this blog from people out of Ohio, I'm thinking former Buckeyes, looking for availability of this chip dip. I had gotten an email from a former resident of Cleveland looking for it. I emailed Circle K about this sometime ago asking if it was possible to send the dip out to those out of state, they said because of quality issues that it was not possible. Big Chuck! a review

I spent a good portion of my Friday nights while I was going through my preteen and teenage years watching a television show called "The Hoolihan and Big Chuck Show."
