Late night wars.....

Since my bedtime has changed from 8:00pm to whenever the heck I please, I have been watching some of the late night television wars. It seems that Conan O'Brien and I will have one thing in common as of tomorrow night. We will both be unemployed. However, I think Conan will have an easier time paying the bills.

Between all the jabs from Leno, Letterman, and Conan, the comedy makes for some good drama. Of course all the tabloids have, or will be weighing in with their observations, since empty inquiring minds want to know. And since controversy attracts, NBC has been getting extra viewers. And the boy riding the bike into the Kia plant probably likes that.

When all is said and done, television is still a vast wasteland.

People are attracted to negative, must be the way we are wired. I'm thinking we could all use a bit of readjusting. If this late night issue, was being handled amicably...nobody would give these guys props for good behavior, they would be ignored.
We humanoids are certainly a strange bunch!

Haven't seen much, but I think I'll watch "Co Co" tonight for the last time. I predict it won't be the last time we see him on TV. I think I heard that NBC is legally forcing him off the air until September. Then he's a free agent.

yes it still is.the sad thing is that Conan blames leno for this mess.Leno said it best on his show when the Network execs canned to show and decided to play around with the schedule.

On one hand, people need a distration from reality now and then. On the other hand, it gets a bit too much when late night TV is talked about much more then all the wars of the U.S. put together.

It is a vast wasteland. I miss most of it. Ok, all of it. But I still love Conan. He is the funniest. :0

I watch mostly documentaries nowadays. I just can't seem to get into shows anymore. I used to like detective shows, but lately "fun" shows about murder and dead bodies just feels morbid and depressing.

I just think they should have kept Leno at 11:35 till Leno was ready to retire..Conan is ok, but I dont find him all that funny..

Funny, I was just bloggin' about this myself. I thought Conan went out with a lot of class (which you don't get much of in late night TV) last night.

I don't watch any of them. Nor much TV at all. So I guess for me the Wasteland is wasted.

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. Sometimes Sports are Just Sports

 This may or may not make the final cut of my book. I was writing about some events this weekend and what had started as a joyous Friday night at my home school district became a weekend of heartbreak in the area after what happened at another school. Sometimes We Need to Realize That Sports are Just Games   Friday nights in late summer and early fall are sometimes a big deal for high school students and their families. As the long-time band announcer for my local high school, it is a time of year I always look forward to. This past Friday night was originally supposed to be the homecoming game for the local high school. The schedule had to be changed a bit because of the uncertainty of the opponents being able to field a team. There was talk around the league that they may have had to forfeit this game, so homecoming for the local school was rescheduled. Lawson's Chip Dip

On a couple of occasions I have written posts dedicated to Lawson's, a convenience store chain that was located in Ohio for close to 50 years. In the late 1980's the chain was bought out by Dairy Mart, of Engfield Ct. Dairy Mart was then purchased by Alimentation Couche-Tard, and most stored were rebranded Circle K. Something that has survived the years since Lawson's has left the landscape is Lawson's Chip Dip. I get many hits on this blog from people out of Ohio, I'm thinking former Buckeyes, looking for availability of this chip dip. I had gotten an email from a former resident of Cleveland looking for it. I emailed Circle K about this sometime ago asking if it was possible to send the dip out to those out of state, they said because of quality issues that it was not possible. My only suggestion would be to get in touch with Circle K in your home area and ask them to start stocking this very popular item that seems to make every get-together complete. Now we wil
