Not as bad as the East Cost, but still *yuck*





Overnight we got slammed pretty hard from old man winter. I was driving in the beginning of this late yesterday afternoon and saw the aftermath of a very bad accident. Problem is people lose most of their common sense and patience when we get into this weather and on the roads. This is when you have to remember all the defensive driving lessons you were taught, or in short, look out for the other guy.

I got up this morning and saw we got all the snow we were promised. And I got out my shovel with the ergonomic handle, aka, the kinky shovel. I then got to work and yes, I did take breaks.


I did drive into Wooster to get Adam and bring him over for the day. After I got stuck twice, I regretted that move and I will have to get a new tire for the WIXYmobile on Monday.

Now as I put the finishing touches on this post, I am also watching the Budweiser Shootout. This reminds me that spring is just around the corner.





Hopefully we will have Margaret check in, as I have been hearing all day that the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas have been hit really hard.

East coast checking in! We made it through, but many roads are still dicy. Was watching a live shot of a local reporter this morning in Baltimore- all of the sudden, he was gone from the shot. He slipped and went right down on his keester! I think he as Ok.

Metro Cincinnati also checking in. 8" of snow at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport 4 miles from my home and pretty near that here. Anywhere from 2 to 9 inches of snow fell between Lexington and Dayton, with more in a few areas north of Interstate 70.

Took me an hour to get home from work on Friday (instead of 20 minutes). This morning was worse, the fog was so thick. Had a dump truck hauling a trailer with farm equipment pull right out in front of me. I believe snow would be the lesser of those two evils.

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Why?

What I'm posting now is with the blessing of Chelle. Chelle is the cousin of Suzanne's husband, Richard. I had gotten the impression from both of them that they were about as close as sisters. Suzanne had been a friend of mine since I had discovered one of her blogs in July, 2006. We would make reference to each other on our blogs and would have dialogue via email quite a bit. It was no surprise to me that she was friends to many other bloggers as well. I felt it was quite an honor to be held in as high esteem as I was. We even talked to each other on the phone on occasion. I felt as we had known each other for a long time. I also knew that Suzanne was having some personal problems, much of which had to do with a very troubled marriage. I would let her bounce things off me, and I would send her some encouragement. Bananas and Sleep Apnea

First thing I want to do is welcome all the good folks from Australia who are checking me out as a result of Google searches. I recently wrote a post on sleep apnea , discussing my history with it and my new CPAP machine. Because of this and the name of my blog, this is the top site google lists when somebody types "bananas sleep apnea" into the search line on Google. All of the sites I have seen, that were not the usual sites that come here, ended in "dot au" which I know as Australia. Normally the only hit from down under is by my good friend David McMahon. The reason for the search is that a research team in Australia has found. as a result of a study, that drinking a banana smoothie may assist in easing conditions that cause sleep apnea. Phospholipids, or fatty acids, in bananas stay active in the mouth for six hours and may keep the throat open, therefore reducing the risk of choking.
