Some observations from my somewhat twisted mind

First, I do promise two more Top Banana posts. I never realized that I would be so busy and unemployed at the same time. Now on with this post.

Last night I had to get some items at Save A Lot. The store was almost empty so there was no one around to heart me chuckling to myself as I made a couple of observations.

First, I wanted to make some muffins for breakfast this morning, so I picked up a couple of packages of blueberry muffin mix. I noticed this on the label: "Naturally and artificially flavored with imitation blueberries." HUH? Tell me how you can naturally flavor something with imitation blueberries?

Then I walked past the freezer case. I saw this dessert that had small pieces of cheesecake, but those who packaged it weren't very nice people. The container's label said "Sara Lee Bites."

And one last observation as I took my son grocery shopping today. Now that I don't have to drive to and from Cleveland on I-77, at least for the moment, I don't give a flip about missing traffic reports during the afternoon rush hour. But I do feel that we need traffic reports in the cereal aisle in the Evin Big Box Store(tm).

I once picked up a Kraft cheese dip that had no cheese, no milk and pretty much nothing real in it. I kept thinking... then what the HECK is this creamy white paste I'm supposed to be eating really?

ewww... I hate fake food.

Expand My Territories

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV The verse above is commonly referred to as the Prayer of Jabez. I was impressed to find my copy of the book written by Bruce Wilkinson and read it again. Some recent happenings prompted me to reflect upon how my territories have been expanded. The Lord has been blessing me and I have really not deserved these blessings. The past several years, I have been sharing my poetry with my friends on Facebook. I also share the poems with others by writing them on index cards. These are usually received with smiles and people telling me that I should write a book. From a "Battleground State"

I am going to make this one short and sweet. I live in Ohio, in this election season, one of the so called "Battleground states," a state crucial for any candidate presidential hopes. Of course we have had many visits from presidential and vice presidential candidates. Other blogs have dissected both campaigns so I will not. The only questions I have is will the promises made by either of these candidates exclusive to these states be fulfilled, or will they prove only to be hot air?
