Post deleted on Seek Him First

It's my personal editorial policy not to knowingly offend when I write posts on my blogs. The post I wrote last month on my faith based blog, Seek Him First has been pulled. The reason in which I made my decision was because there was an anonymous commenter there who implied that my post was made in ignorance of their denomination. I was afraid that this would possibly be construed as a slam on my part against their denomination, which I never intended it to be.

As far as comments are concerned, I have only deleted three since starting this blog. Two of those have been comments I have written. I thought several hours before deciding to delete the post.

If I have ever offended anyone on any of my three blogs, I apologize.

Cliff,It is a shame that you deleted a posting based on your beliefs, and that an Anonymous person can cause you to delete your post if you "slighted him or her" I have upset people on my blog as well I chose not to delete the post that brought offence to a person,I posted an apology to that person and left the post stand.I believe that no can tell me what to post or how to post something.after all it it MY Blog and you should have the same rights on Your Blog. just saying.
I hope that you are having a great day.

I agree completely with Mike. I'm so sorry that that "unnamed person" made you feel badly. If we spend our lives trying so hard not to upset anyone when stating our beliefs and opinions, we lose our voice.

Seriously, I can't imagine you offending anyone. Really. I don't think it is possible. Don't fret too much, you always make good choices.

Cliff do not allow closed minded people take away your right to thought. First off Religion is an Offensive subject, that is why it is not talked about. i am a person of faith today. I believe in a higher power, i know there are some out there who NEED to put some man made faction to this process. Truth be told however, my HP is loving and caring, and I do not need to know any more than that, because the second I put a definition on my HP I put limits as well. And today I have no limits. And if someone out there cannot open their mind to the possibility of love, then i pray for them. I would do as you did and apologize for any offense, in fact i made sure to put that in my latest blog, where i gave an award to parents of addicts, now talk about a touchy subject!!! But I would hope that i would not delete something i wrote from my heart, you know your motives better than anyone.
Anyway I love what you write, I do not read the faith one because it is just not me. Some people just take themselves way, WAY too seriously, and from what i have seen we all have to take that journey in the end, and that is who will be judging me, not someone here. I love your work and if you need a cheerleader you got one!!

I have to agree with pigeon here Cliff, we cannot please all the people all the time! With that being said, if you are posting what you truly believe then in a sense you are teaching as well and this world could use all the knowledge it can get. After all, how many people did Jesus offend!!!!!

Cliff, I've learned that each person has a right to their opinion. I simply so what I've learned in the program, "I take what I like and leave the rest". It's your blog. Do what your heart and head tell you to do.

Post 800: Time to chat

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. When I first decided to write my musings, a friend from the radio and television boards who goes by the name of newsnomore, told me not to be discouraged if I didn't get any readers. The fact that I did in the early going made me surprised and grateful that anyone was enjoying what I wrote. I've had people tell me that maybe it wasn't meant for me to ever be in radio, that maybe my calling was blogging. Nowadays I think blogging makes for better two way conversation than terrestrial radio, especially the way I do it, non confrontational. The closest I come from any confrontation is the innocent digs that Pat and I shoot at each other. On an average day I get betwee...

Lawson's Chip Dip

On a couple of occasions I have written posts dedicated to Lawson's, a convenience store chain that was located in Ohio for close to 50 years. In the late 1980's the chain was bought out by Dairy Mart, of Engfield Ct. Dairy Mart was then purchased by Alimentation Couche-Tard, and most stored were rebranded Circle K. Something that has survived the years since Lawson's has left the landscape is Lawson's Chip Dip. I get many hits on this blog from people out of Ohio, I'm thinking former Buckeyes, looking for availability of this chip dip. I had gotten an email from a former resident of Cleveland looking for it. I emailed Circle K about this sometime ago asking if it was possible to send the dip out to those out of state, they said because of quality issues that it was not possible. My only suggestion would be to get in touch with Circle K in your home area and ask them to start stocking this very popular item that seems to make every get-together complete. Now we wil...

Sometimes Sports are Just Sports

This may or may not make the final cut of my book. I was writing about some events this weekend and what had started as a joyous Friday night at my home school district became a weekend of heartbreak in the area after what happened at another school. Sometimes We Need to Realize That Sports are Just Games   Friday nights in late summer and early fall are sometimes a big deal for high school students and their families. As the long-time band announcer for my local high school, it is a time of year I always look forward to. This past Friday night was originally supposed to be the homecoming game for the local high school. The schedule had to be changed a bit because of the uncertainty of the opponents being able to field a team. There was talk around the league that they may have had to forfeit this game, so homecoming for the local school was rescheduled. The opponents, which are rivals of my local school district, were able to field a team and the game was played. The...
