A Day of Bonuses


Today has been a good day so far.....

As I was driving to work, I was listening to Scott and Sue. Sue had asked Scott to read the poem I wrote especially for her birthday. Unfortunately, I got to work before I heard it, but to show my appreciation, I left another poem on the Wynn and Wilson website, pertaining to a contest being run on WQMX.

Shortly after 8 o'clock, the plant manager walked into my office and handed me a book, called "The Best of Hal Lebovitz." Hal was a sports-writing legend in this area for many years. And John, my plant manager, thought I'd appreciate this book that he picked up at a yard sale.

The book contains many of Hal's columns he wrote over the years, many of which I remember reading as I looked for the previous days scores in the Cleveland Plain Dealer during the 1970's. I started reading this book during my lunch break(after writing the poem at wynnandwilson.com) and already can say that any Cleveland sports fan would enjoy the book. Hal was always one of my favorites..I remember reading in recent years how he "beat the drum" long and hard when he found out through his sources that the Cleveland Indians were considering moving to Seattle in 1964..His efforts largely prevented this from happening..

Also:Jane Lassar is a really classy Lady..When I asked to use pictures out of one of Gray's books for my blog, She offered me preview copies of several of their recent books unsolicited..

I was also invited to a "Launch Party" lsat year for the original "Big Chuck" book. I couldnt go, but those parties are usually pretty nice affairs..They do things up right at Gray and Company..

Post 800: Time to chat

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. Expand My Territories

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request. 1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV The verse above is commonly referred to as the Prayer of Jabez. I was impressed to find my copy of the book written by Bruce Wilkinson and read it again. Some recent happenings prompted me to reflect upon how my territories have been expanded. The Lord has been blessing me and I have really not deserved these blessings. The past several years, I have been sharing my poetry with my friends on Facebook. I also share the poems with others by writing them on index cards. These are usually received with smiles and people telling me that I should write a book. From a "Battleground State"

I am going to make this one short and sweet. I live in Ohio, in this election season, one of the so called "Battleground states," a state crucial for any candidate presidential hopes. Of course we have had many visits from presidential and vice presidential candidates. Other blogs have dissected both campaigns so I will not. The only questions I have is will the promises made by either of these candidates exclusive to these states be fulfilled, or will they prove only to be hot air?
