I know, I've been away from the keyboard for a few days. I've had a somewhat busy weekend. We went to some yard sales in Smithville, a nearby town on Saturday morning. I spent less than two dollars, got some cassette tapes for my wife. Afterward we went to Kathy's parents house, where I did some yard work. We took advantage of the great weather this past weekend and I got my first sunburn of the season.
Another Northeast Ohio blogger to introduce: I think we have cross paths for some time now, both of us having been friends of Liquid. Friday I included her in my lists of links. Meet Diane Vogel Ferri. Diane hails from the eastern suburbs of Cleveland. Like Pigeon, she hails from the dreaded snow belt. In addition to being a blogger, Diane is also a poet and a teacher. She, like one of my daughters, is a special education teacher. Check out Diane Vogel Ferri's blog. It's called Coexist.
It's shaping up to be a good NBA postseason in these parts. The Cavaliers just swept the Detroit Pistons in the first round. The baseball season is looking like, well, I may get quite a bit done this summer.
Now you may ask what I was watching when I was watching sporting events yesterday? I watched the Sprint Cup race from Talledega. It was an exciting race and had a very exciting finish. I also have to commend NASCAR for all of their safety innovations, as the end of the race could have been way more disastorous for driver Carl Edwards and many of the fans when Carl's #99 Claritin Ford Fusion was flipped into the retaining fence. The car landed right side up. Carl climbed out of the car and ran to the finish line to the cheers of the fans. Among the comments Carl had to reporters was that the winner, Brad Keselowski, did what he was supposed to do, given the restraints mandated by NASCAR. He also congratulated Keselowski on the win, which was his first.

And I've not watched much of anything besides racing. Not as much fun without my brother around to discuss it with.
But then again, we live in Ohio and we aren't use to all this in April.
As far as the Tribe, I just keep telling myself "It's still early yet" As for the Cavaliers, good that they put the Pistons out early. My hope is that the Celtics and Lakers, if they dont lose a series, both have hard 7-game series before they meet up with us..Have an excellent week..
