For classic radio fans and lovers of good donuts

After having a prescription refilled at the Ritzman Natural Health Pharmacy in Wadsworth, I went across the street to get a dozen of, in my opinion, the best donuts in Medina County. As you can tell by the picture, the name of the bakery is Ann's Pastry Shop, which is located on High Street, just north of the square. I have admired that clock for some time now and just had to take the picture so I could share it with those who take the time to look at this blog. I hope those with Akron radio connections enjoy this piece of history. Another neat thing about the shop for me is on the door. When they list their hours open, they have for Sunday "C U in Church" But if you are in Wadsworth, you have got to give this shop a visit. They have some of the best cream sticks, cinnamon rolls, and glazed donuts around (my favorites).

I do like lots of Ann's stuff, especially the seashells! Plus, my mother works there part time to get out of the house and pull in some extra cash flow!

I have to admit that in the handful of times I've been in there, I don't ever remember seeing that clock... does the WCUE refer to the 1150 signal, or the old 96.5? If it's talking about 1150, it would surprise me, as 1150 doesn't seem to be a solid signal in Wadsworth itself...

Well, after looking more closely at the photo, I just realized that the 1150 AM is mentioned in the black part near the 9 and 3 o'clock positions... WCUE's pattern on Radio-Locator (yes, I know it's not super accurate all the time) shows huge nulls to anything east & west of the Akron metro, including Wadsworth. I guess I'm surprised by the combination, unless there happened to be another Ann's Pastry Shop elsewhere and the Wadsworth shop found the clock at a flea market.

I have just deleted a comment that I had posted that may have been offensive to anyone who currently listens to WCUE, If you read it and found it to be insulting in any way, I apologize. If the station ministers to you then I praise the Lord that you can find spiritual nourishment in the ministry of the station.

Post 800: Time to chat

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. When I first decided to write my musings, a friend from the radio and television boards who goes by the name of newsnomore, told me not to be discouraged if I didn't get any readers. The fact that I did in the early going made me surprised and grateful that anyone was enjoying what I wrote. From a "Battleground State"

I am going to make this one short and sweet. I live in Ohio, in this election season, one of the so called "Battleground states," a state crucial for any candidate presidential hopes. Of course we have had many visits from presidential and vice presidential candidates. Other blogs have dissected both campaigns so I will not. The only questions I have is will the promises made by either of these candidates exclusive to these states be fulfilled, or will they prove only to be hot air?
