Rittman Treasure Chest, You can always find a treasure here.

I have just got back home from a little journey into town. When I say I went into town, I mean Rittman, as opposed to the big city, which is Wadsworth. My sister wanted to do some shopping. One of my mottos during the holiday shopping season is "Peace on Earth, Goodwill for values."

Anyway my travels led me to this new thrift shop called "Rittman Treasure Chest". I was told that it was called this because everybody can find a treasure here. This store is operated by members of the Rittman All Sports Boosters, from this point known as the Worlds Greatest All Sports Boosters or WGASB(tm).

The donations sold here are comparable, and in alot of cases lower, than the Goodwill across town. Proceeds go to help those who are less fortunate than others. Also the goal of the WGASB(tm), is to make it possible for anyone who wants, to be able to participate in the school sport of their choice.

Back to the Treasure Chest name. I was told while I was shopping there that someone bought a set of cups, I believe, for a dollar and resold them for over three hundred dollars on eBay.

The Treasure Chest is open Monday thru Saturday, from 9am to 6pm, closed on Sunday. It's located on S. Main St. Next to the VFW hall.

I need to get myself to Rittman sometime soon. I love going to the resale shops in the area.

I am tired of being cloned. I have been hanging low hoping the person would go away, but as soon as I post, the person posted again.

It is nice being on this small break.

Visit this one, as you would be helping out one of my favorite causes, and that is the Rittman Sports programs. I know of too many cases of extracurricular activities keeping kids, my son and myself included, in school. It is definitely a privilege working with the booster groups in Rittman.

Post 800: Time to chat

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. When I first decided to write my musings, a friend from the radio and television boards who goes by the name of newsnomore, told me not to be discouraged if I didn't get any readers. The fact that I did in the early going made me surprised and grateful that anyone was enjoying what I wrote. I've had people tell me that maybe it wasn't meant for me to ever be in radio, that maybe my calling was blogging. Nowadays I think blogging makes for better two way conversation than terrestrial radio, especially the way I do it, non confrontational. The closest I come from any confrontation is the innocent digs that Pat and I shoot at each other. On an average day I get betwee...

From a "Battleground State"

I am going to make this one short and sweet. I live in Ohio, in this election season, one of the so called "Battleground states," a state crucial for any candidate presidential hopes. Of course we have had many visits from presidential and vice presidential candidates. Other blogs have dissected both campaigns so I will not. The only questions I have is will the promises made by either of these candidates exclusive to these states be fulfilled, or will they prove only to be hot air?

Bananas and Sleep Apnea

First thing I want to do is welcome all the good folks from Australia who are checking me out as a result of Google searches. I recently wrote a post on sleep apnea , discussing my history with it and my new CPAP machine. Because of this and the name of my blog, this is the top site google lists when somebody types "bananas sleep apnea" into the search line on Google. All of the sites I have seen, that were not the usual sites that come here, ended in "dot au" which I know as Australia. Normally the only hit from down under is by my good friend David McMahon. The reason for the search is that a research team in Australia has found. as a result of a study, that drinking a banana smoothie may assist in easing conditions that cause sleep apnea. Phospholipids, or fatty acids, in bananas stay active in the mouth for six hours and may keep the throat open, therefore reducing the risk of choking. Further studies will expand to those, like myself, who need a breathing machi...
