Trivisonno, you're an imbecile!

Today as I was driving home from work, I turned my car radio to WTAM/1100 just to see what the talk of the day was. Mike Trivisonno, the antihero of this blog, was on and he was talking about the effects of slashing the funding of Ohio libraries. A soundbite , people chanting "save Ohio libraries" was played over and over. Triv said that he hoped that libraries would close because it was about time things were taken away from the poor. Maybe if you'd go to a library once in awhile Triv, check out a book and read it, you might have a clue, you moron!

I realize that this is an act and he's just a mouthpiece for cheap channel, but I think that most of the banter that I heard coming from that waste of frequency thisafternoon was in extremely poor taste.

Many people, regardless of social status, use public libraries. Quite a few use them to hone their skills, and that is very necessary in these times of mass unemployment. I figure that his current lackeys should use their closest library to their advantage, seeing how loyal their fearless leader is. Ask Kim Mihilik, Paul Rado, and Marty Allen. Only one person from that show left relatively unscathed, and she left to marry the hitting coach of the Cleveland Indians. Any listener can tell you how much Triv likes to lick the boots of Bob Dibiaso, Mark Shapiro, and Eric Wedge.

Ahh, what do I know? I'm just a screwball moron blogger. I might not know a lot about broadcasting, but I do know about how to treat other people.

Cliff Note: Check out Daisy's post about the library issue, as she gives her perspective as a part time librarian.

Trivisonno's comments are right up there with Marie Antoinette... "Let them eat cake". He's clearly an unenlightened intellectual lightweight.

I have no time for people like him. I'm amazed the radio station he was on even gave him a forum. It was a waste of perfectly good air time, and perfectly good radio waves!

So the man does not like libraries? The cutting of funding for libraries just goes to show me one thing I ve told die hard Democratic party supporters for years. Democrats do not care about you just as no political party cares about the little guy.

One thing I want to clarify: The last democrat I voted for in a gubernatorial race was Dick Celeste in 1978.

Whereas I have voted mainly republican in the last several elections, the party is really starting to embarrass me.

And everyone who has read this blog since almost the beginning know I'm more a third party proponant than anything else.

For someone to go on the air and say that only old people and perverts go to libraries and play comedy bits which all but call libraries obsolete in an area where the resources are greatly needed is out of touch with his rust belt audience.

And the "crap out babies" line is borderline race baiting.

The Republican party is an embarassment. However, the media goes out of its way to make excuses for the Democratic party. Look at the difference in coverage of scandals. When a Democrat is caught we should forgive and forget and move on. When a Republican does it then he is a hypocrite and should resign etc etc etc.

His comment was despicable.

To the anonymous commenter: I do not disagree with you.

Anybody in public office should hold themselves to a high moral standard. I felt that way about Bill Clinton when the news about his transgression with Monica come to light. I feel that way about anyone, republican, democrat, or libertarian.

Here Here for a third party, Cliff! I agree.

You should change the radio station that you listen to for the sake of your blood pressure.

Cliff, thank you so much for the link and for your support of libraries.

That statement shows that he obviously has no clue as to what is happening in libraries today. People of every age and every part of society visit the local libraries. Our usage is up 20% now, but if the Governor's proposal is passed our funding will be cut by a total of 52%. If this passes, our countywide number of employees will be cut from 54 down to 8. Communities use and need libraries more than ever right now. It is inconceivable to me that this is the place chosen for budget cuts.

Thank you again, Cliff for blogging about this and voicing your support of libraries. It is much appreciated.
