I am sitting at my desk at work, typing this during my morning break. We were expecting 1-3 inches of snow overnight, but got just a dusting. One of the hardest jobs in Northeast Ohio has to be a weather forecaster. Dick Goddard, the dean of weather forcasters in this area once got a letter from one of his viewers stating he was shoveling 6 inches of partly cloudy from his driveway.
But the weather here also changes with the locale. It could be sunny in downtown Cleveland and snow squalls could be in one of the eastern suburbs. Such was the case several years ago when a traffic reporter for what's now WTAM/1100. Cliff Note: back then it was WWWE, but since I have a couple of readers from the Atlanta area, I did not want to confuse them as WWWE/1100 is now a Spanish speaking station in that area. Back to the story. The reporter and his pilot was killed when the traffic plane crashed into a cell phone tower that they evidently couldn't see because of the snow. Downtown and the western suburbs was partly sunny at the time.
Come to think about it, I wouldn't want to be an airborne traffic reporter either.
