My radio listening on my way to work in the morning is varied, depending on the circumstances. The past few days going into work, I've been listening to WQMX/94.9 from Akron. When the 5:30am news is over the Wynn and Wilson morning show begins. This is a show that really connects with the listeners, and the hosts take turns being the other's foil. Since I can only listen to the first 25 minutes, I get the opening segments and the show usually starts off with some chuckles. Sue Wilson gave me some chuckles the past couple of days.
Yesterday the topic of discussion was the governor of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich. Sue asked "how do you pronounce his name? I think I'll just call him 'badonkadonk.'"
This morning, she gave a tutorial on playing "Jingle Bells" on her cell phone. Hardly compelling radio, but a good way to get a laugh on a too long drive to work. But then again there was a full moon this morning. In short this program is very enjoyable listening, an oasis among so much shock radio. And the two personalities who make this morning program are also bloggers.
Scott Wynn, the male part if this show, has a blog called, Scott Wynn's Window. Out of the two, Scott is the more active blogger.Scott has been in radio for over 20 years and in 1997 was the CMT personality of the year.
Sue Wilson is not only co-host, but also WQMX program director. Her resume also includes being PD of WFHM/95.5 the Fish, in Cleveland. Sue has only recently become co-host, but there is definitely a good chemistry between the two. Her blog is called Sue Wilson's Voice Over.
Check out both blogs as both personalities give their account of the "Tree of lights," the recent campaign to help the Haven of Rest, a faith based rescue mission in Akron, Ohio. Total gifts for this was over $40, 000.
