I like Bella because......

When I think of Bella, I think of the time I had to get some boiled peanuts at the convenience store in Florida. Bella had written a post about the peanut festival in her home town. I was told by my wife and her parents that I wouldn't like them. when I tried them, I found out they were okay, that they tasted like chick peas.

Bella is an ob-gyn nurse in Alabama. As such many children come into the world and the first thing they may see is her face. After this, they are in for a major disappointment when they start seeing other people. But Bella is more than just another pretty face, she is a very interesting person.

She posted that her first job was at Hardees. I'm still trying to picture her wearing one of those polyester uniforms, complete with the ugly hat over all that hair. Also, I can now see why she made the decision to join PETA. And she went from Hardees to health care. Go figure.

Bella is also green, meaning she drives a hybrid and eats organic food. One of the first posts of hers I read was about having an organic pizza for lunch.

Her blog is called "It is what it is." check it out.

Too funny Cliff! But thanks, you are too kind! I wish I had a picture of me wearing my Hardee's uniform back in the day, but there was NO WAY I would've been caught dead in it!

You'll be proud to know that I just ordered an environmental car tag for Lola (my car). I'm so excited to have that over the boring 'ol Bama tag!

Take care,
Bella

Bella...hello! I drive a hybrid too. I got my Prius in 2006. I love it. I'm so happy I can use my mp3 player in it. I got the green colored Prius.

I loved Hardees way back when. I think they had like 60 cent hamburgers.

Hey Struke...My Prius is black (2007). I have the mp3 thing too and love it. My "friends" make fun of my car, but I'm the one laughing when they are at the gas station all the time.

Thanks for letting me jump back and forth to your blog Cliff!

Bella,

Two main reasons for my I Like posts.

First is I really do like all those I link to, and second is for those who come here to check all my good blog friends.

You can do all the jumping back and forth you want. BTW did you hear the song at the top of my player list? You mentioned in your blog when you talked about your favorite love songs that you loved this one.

Hi Cliff
I like Bella too.She seems to be a very honest, straightforward person. There is nothing fake about her and I like that.
Her blog is very interesting and she cooks like a dream!
Bella is OK. I see her all over the blog world --- I didn't know she was "green"!

You know, going green can be quite expensive, but I am doing the best I can .. my dream is to become a complete vegetarian. But right now with vegetables so high, and some are so bad --- well, it put me in a catch 22 situation. Maybe when I move to the country this will not be a problem.

Bella, we be proud of you!

I love this! It is very encouraging, cliff! I actually copied you on my blog.

Thank you Melanie. I like doing this better than giving awards because you are concentrating on one blogger at a time. I got the idea after listening to Zig Ziglar on a podcast. It helps you help other build their readers one at a time, or as they say when cooking ribs "low and slow."

I adore Bella because:

She is a true Southern Belle who makes me proud.
She is astonishingly kind and giving.
She is humble.
And because I like green.
Her beauty is like the fourth thing you notice about her.
But once you do,
her truths ring fore-front and true.

You know, God chooses his angels quite carefully.......
Bella is proof.

And so are YOU!

Post 800: Time to chat

Hi Guys, It's hard to believe that this is post number 800 for this blog. I started this blog out of my desire to communicate. Since radio and television is becoming more and more automated and less and less personal, I'm glad I made the decision to go in this direction as it has given me many blessings. When I first decided to write my musings, a friend from the radio and television boards who goes by the name of newsnomore, told me not to be discouraged if I didn't get any readers. The fact that I did in the early going made me surprised and grateful that anyone was enjoying what I wrote. I've had people tell me that maybe it wasn't meant for me to ever be in radio, that maybe my calling was blogging. Nowadays I think blogging makes for better two way conversation than terrestrial radio, especially the way I do it, non confrontational. The closest I come from any confrontation is the innocent digs that Pat and I shoot at each other. On an average day I get betwee

Lawson's Chip Dip

On a couple of occasions I have written posts dedicated to Lawson's, a convenience store chain that was located in Ohio for close to 50 years. In the late 1980's the chain was bought out by Dairy Mart, of Engfield Ct. Dairy Mart was then purchased by Alimentation Couche-Tard, and most stored were rebranded Circle K. Something that has survived the years since Lawson's has left the landscape is Lawson's Chip Dip. I get many hits on this blog from people out of Ohio, I'm thinking former Buckeyes, looking for availability of this chip dip. I had gotten an email from a former resident of Cleveland looking for it. I emailed Circle K about this sometime ago asking if it was possible to send the dip out to those out of state, they said because of quality issues that it was not possible. My only suggestion would be to get in touch with Circle K in your home area and ask them to start stocking this very popular item that seems to make every get-together complete. Now we wil

Sometimes Sports are Just Sports

This may or may not make the final cut of my book. I was writing about some events this weekend and what had started as a joyous Friday night at my home school district became a weekend of heartbreak in the area after what happened at another school. Sometimes We Need to Realize That Sports are Just Games   Friday nights in late summer and early fall are sometimes a big deal for high school students and their families. As the long-time band announcer for my local high school, it is a time of year I always look forward to. This past Friday night was originally supposed to be the homecoming game for the local high school. The schedule had to be changed a bit because of the uncertainty of the opponents being able to field a team. There was talk around the league that they may have had to forfeit this game, so homecoming for the local school was rescheduled. The opponents, which are rivals of my local school district, were able to field a team and the game was played. The game was
